A rookie on a professional football team, and a coach who rides him harder than anyone else on the roster. She is ice-cold, and her husband owns the club outright. Yes, Coach is the sports-locker variation on the power-dynamic theme that runs through much of the catalogue.
Power, played straight
The appeal is the hierarchy: she can end his career, and both of them know it. The free episodes are training sessions and post-match tension, and they set up the dynamic cleanly.
How far it goes
We put the paid run at three out of five: explicit, but closer to the tone of its opening than the titles at the top of the scale. Diana Demont, the coach, is the character who stays on afterwards; she also leads YES MA’AM.
